"I didn't see a chance for them to win a Super Bowl at the time," Johnson said. "For the work I was putting in, it wasn't worth my time, to keep on beating my head up against the wall, and not go anywhere.

He wasn't wrong...and this would be the second all world talent I've seen retire from the Lions in their prime.

Yeah can't argue with him. I think the last time I saw the lions competitive or thought they were super bowl capable was like in 95/96 somewhere around there.
