If Michigan had to lose to anyone in the playoff, Im glad it was to the eventual national champion Georgia - sorry Tider. \_(ツ)_/
At least your team can take solace in the fact that if Georgia could do that to Michigan, they could do that to anyone including Bama.  ;)

Probably...but like I said, every NFC team in contention is flawed. Whichever one gets hot, stays healthy, and dodges the 'rona has the best chance of getting to the Super Bowl.

Pro Football / John Madden
« on: December 29, 2021, 04:08:20 PM »

Some knew him as a legendary coach in the AFL and NFL, winning a Super Bowl. Some (like me), got their introduction to John Madden through his appearances in Miller Lite commercials, and they were amazing. Many more got to know him through his broadcast work, and he may very well be the only broadcaster that successfully made the transition from coaching to the one's done it like him since. And yet another generation knows him simply through the name stamped on the video game franchise which was absolutely groundbreaking when it debuted for being the first to be true 11 on 11 football (the only way John Madden would allow his name to be put on the game was if it was that way).

Rest in peace, Coach. You were one of the best.

Spider-Man: No Way Home
Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Benedict Cumberbatch

The spoiler free part: Tom Holland once again does an amazing job as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and this movie starts in the immediate aftermath of the revelations from Far From Home. What follows is an enjoyable and emotional rollercoaster of a movie, and I loved every moment of it. Can't wait to see what they do next. Haven't seen The Eternals yet, but so far this is the best MCU film this year.
Spoiler: show
Damn near lost it when Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire showed up, and seeing them converse before the final battle was my favorite part of this film...that and Willem Dafoe reprising his role as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin.

The Last Blockbuster

Been meaning to watch this documentary for a bit, and I'm glad I finally did. Takes a look at the rise and fall of the late 80s/90s video rental juggernaut, and the factors that led to its demise. Also takes a nice look at the last Blockbuster Video still in existence in Bend, OR and the ones that work there and keep it going. As a former employee of the place, it was nice to take a look back at the story and it definitely brought back some fond memories.

Cowboys look a little dangerous, but the NFC in general is a crapshoot. If it comes down to the Pack vs. the Cowboys though I'm rooting for a meteor.

Chiefs are looking dangerous again too.

Lol Washington.

Controls are pretty similar, graphics get a nice upgrade. Haven't had the time to do a deep dive into GM mode and all that other stuff but you could do a lot that I remember in 19 so...

Space Jam: A New Legacy
Lebron James, Don Cheadle, other people that probably don't want to be associated with this

Watched it because it was on, and because I was also curious - the original might not be gripping cinema but it was okay way back when. Plus the soundtrack on the original was good. Besides, I like Lebron - dude is a leader and uses his platform for good.

This movie was absolutely not good. This was absolute trash.

Playstation Direct is your friend lol. Every once in awhile they'll send out emails with an invite to buy at a designated time. Missed my first chance back in July or August, was starting to wonder if I'd ever get another shot. Beginning of December finally received another one-shows up quick too. Ordered on a Friday and delivered by Monday.

Marvel's What If?...

Animated on Disney+, another addition to the MCU's foray into television content. In keeping with the growing Multiverse theme, the episodes are pretty much what it says it is: each episode focuses on a different scenario (for example, Episode 1 ponders how things play out if Agent Carter had to take the Super Soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers). The animation and storytelling are great, but some of these episodes get really dark.

Inspired by Matt Fraction's 2012 Hawkeye comic run, we get introduced to young Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) who unwittingly pulls Clint 'Hawkeye' Barton (Jeremy Renner) back into hero duty around Christmas time in a post-Endgame NYC. As with the previous MCU Disney+ entries, there's a good plot and they weave the story really well throughout. Clint and Kate have great chemistry and an enjoyable mentor/mentee relationship. Also wouldn't be Marvel without a twist or five, and some cameos...and since I'm staying spoiler free I won't say who. Worth checking out.

Add me to the land of the PS5 people now (well, as of ten days ago anyway). Fun little system.

Snagged it since it was on sale, and finally after how many different versions (and every other sports game having it) they added roster sharing so I'll have to check it later.

Set up a World Juniors Tournament since EA finally added that one too, and the gameplay is decent so far. Still feels pretty familiar though, controls haven't changed much. I'll do a deeper dive since I've got some free time and I'm feeling a hockey game right now.
