Lol, if they were looking for a way to get people to stop talking about how they only racked up 94 yards of offense against Michigan last season, they may have succeeded. :D

In other news, Clemson at 1 and Alabama at 2.

Ranking of the best college fight songs. #1 is absolutely correct.

Best college football rivalries...they miss the mark here, as 1 & 2 should be flipped. Their #1 might be the best rivalry in that state.  :P

Ha best in the state ? If intentensity mean best then yes. It's the most intense rivalry ever. After people move here and experiance it I've even had Michigan and osu fans admit it is way more intense than that pillow fight that osu mich have.

Not only noting this now just for giggles at the Vols expense, but also so I can refer to this when tider campaigns to have the Alabama/Tennessee game as one of the pick 'em games the week of October 19. Fool me once...  ;)

This'll be the dumbest, anecdotal response I've ever given to anything (which is saying a lot), but I always noticed in NCAA and Madden, I had better success on kick returns if I at first muffed it. I guess the kick coverage breaks down easier if everyone suddenly goes "BALL BALL BALL!"

Anyways, sweet return.

I will reserve judgement when he isnt facing a sunbelt or big 12 defense. I will agree he looks better than any QB since Tommy Hodson in the 80's. But has Texas had a defense since 2010?

Fun fact: Eastern Michigan over the last three seasons has as many wins over Big Ten teams (3) as Rutgers. Might not be such a big deal until you remember that Rutgers is in the Big Ten and plays conference teams 8-9 times a year.

Eastern Michigan has also done something neither Rutgers or Maryland have done since they joined the conference in 2014: win three games in a row over a Big Ten team.

And last but certainly not least, let's have a round of applause for crotchety little bitchtart Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio, who got upset (once again) by Herm Edwards and the Arizona State Sun Devils (this time in East Lansing - bonus). The Sun Devils took a 10-7 lead late, but the Spartans still had a chance to tie to send it to OT. The first try was actually successful but called back after they had 12 men on the field (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA), which led to this ending.

Reason #8675309 why college football is greater than the pros...Tulane and Houston played one helluva game earlier tonight. Houston was up big early, but Tulane came back in the second half and even took the lead before the Cougars tied it up with 21 seconds left.

Destined for OT?

Not exactly.

agreed, I watched him go from an afternoon talk show host to ESPN and the only way he did it was having his callers scream at each other. The man knows 0 about sports. He stirs the pot every chance he gets, he is the howard stern of sports but without the humor and class. Danny Kannell tried so hard to be him that he lost his spot at ESPN.

I always say if its a big game, 9 out of 10 times LSU will blow it. I lost count, but figured this was the tenth time.

Despite Alabama fatigue, they always show up and the game is never over with them, its entertaining as hell.
The LSU bench almost cost them this game though...distracting their defense on that long bomb TD in the second, causing a delay of game on the 4th and 1 and another instance escapes me, but damn, gotta correct that shit. Oh yea, and get a defense would ya? Jeez.

Texas had a good game too although I feel dirty pulling for them but I really do like Herman, even though he left my Cougars high n dry but I guess thats the nature of coaching

That was legit one of the best games I've seen in awhile...I don't even think it's a thing with defense here (besides that last Bama score, that was almost unforgivable), both QBs as well as Harris and Edwards-Helaire were straight up balling out.

LSU right now is the best team in the league right now IMO...and I hate to say it but a matchup between them and the Buckeyes will be a knockdown drag out brawl and one I want to watch.

LSU played lights out, gotta tip my hat to them. I cant help but wonder if we don't shoot ourselves in the foot 3 times, we come back. That phantom fumble on the first drive, the putting 12 men on the field during that pick that lead to a LSU TD and that TD before the half that Tua phased out on his pick LOL. 2 of the 3 were forced by LSU, they were forced by us LOL. You can't do that against a good team. Any ways proud of the team coming back and making it a game. LSU played better.

That last TD Bama has done many times not sure why we waited to the 2nd half to call it. Sark pissed me off trying to roll Tua out on a bum ankle in the first QTR. He has stood in the pocket most of the year and why try to get cute now?

Oh I dont doubt it, but nonetheless, refs have been insufferable in the NFL since forever and the NCAA is becoming just as egregious

I assume you mean the Roughing the passer play?

https://www.sbnation.com/2018/8/30/17489110/roughing-the-passer-rule-ncaa-nfl

The NCAA says "forcible contact to the head or neck area that does not meet the requirements" of the targeting rule is illegal against QBs. It's pretty much redundant.
Bama got called for one earlier this year when a player's hand hit the QB in the head. A RTP was called and extended the drive. I called horse shit. Looked it up. You cant hit a QB who is not running in the head. It will get called every time. That is the rule. Cant hit the head or below the knee.

That's exactly the play I was talking about. What's he supposed to do, stop in midair? C'mon man. Try to justify it all you want with the rulebook, but the interpretation was bullshit.

That being said, it ultimately didn't matter in the end since Shea couldn't hit much of anything in the second half.

Leagues word the rules to give themselves an out via interpretation.
They can point to any rule to fit a decision

No don't aim for the helmet. I even questioned the hit until i saw he aimed at the head on the replay.  This is modern football now. You cannot hit a QB in the head or below the knee.  I don't like the rules either, its turning into 2 hand touch. But targeting and Roughing the passer is the rules now. But aim for a player's head that is a QB, you will get a flag thrown.

LSU's Joe Burrow set the single season FBS record for TDs in a season with 60. Good lord.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/28479618/lsu-joe-burrow-sets-fbs-single-season-records-td-passes-tds-responsible-for

FYI, that would place him 4th all-time on Michigan's passing TD leaders...for a career.
