Any plan to fix twitter integration? In the past it used to display the actual tweet in the post, but right now all it's doing is displaying the link for the tweet.

Despite my intentions to hold off on purchasing the game this year, I ended up with it on Day One.  :P

Launched right into RTTS again, and instead of carrying my SS over from last year I just created a new one again, although I don't remember who I modeled him after. Drafted by the Rockies, spent the first season in AA/AAA where I got switched to LF (which I hate, but more on that). Somehow made the 25 for year two, but was mainly a bench player for half the season before an injury had me starting on a more regular basis. Finished the season batting around .215, with 6 HR, 21 RBI, and probably a million strikeouts (I'm not patient lol). Was offered another 1 year contract with the Rockies for year 3 and reluctantly took it. I have told my agent though that I want to be back at SS. We'll see what happens; I'm hoping that if I keep mentioning that every time an agent or manager interaction pops up they'll either throw me back to my desired spot...or trade me.

So I really didn't know that for this year there's a pretty high frequency of management wanting your player to switch positions in your rookie season. Supposedly there are things you can do to make sure it doesn't happen (poor points into developing fielding and arm strength, etc during the 10 game position switch), and as a rookie I really didn't feel like telling my manager that no I don't want to switch (maybe next time).

Game as usual is incredible, and I love the ball physics this year - the first time you see the ball curve on a liner into the outfield is pretty damn sweet.

Chit Chat / Chris Cornell

Ugh, this one stings. Soundgarden's another one of those bands I was hoping I'd get around to seeing at some point, but put on the backburner because I figured they'd be around a long time - I didn't even realize they were in Detroit last night. Chris Cornell had one hell of a voice. RIP man.

Baseball / Tigers/Red Wings Owner Mike Ilitch Passes Away
February 10, 2017, 09:38:23 PM
 :-[

http://www.freep.com/story/money/business/columnists/2017/02/10/ilitch-detroit-pizza-red-wings-tigers-hockey-forbes/91475642/

Really don't know what else to say here. Some of you might know him mainly as the owner of Little Caesar's Pizza, home of "Pizza! Pizza!" and the cheap and easy Hot N' Readys. But I have a feeling most of you know him as the owner of the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers. Without his guidance, Detroit probably doesn't become Hockeytown, and while the Tigers did struggle his first few seasons as owner, they too soon found some sustained success in the 2000s. While he wasn't able to fulfill his dream of seeing the Tigers win the World Series as owner, he did do what it took to get the Tigers back to competing again. And we all know what the Red Wings were able to accomplish during his time as owner: 4 Stanley Cup Championships, and a playoff streak that started in 1991.
His contributions to the city of Detroit are also worth mentioning. He helped restore the Fox Theatre back to its former greatness, and that entire district area will soon be home to not just one of his arenas (Comerica Park in 2000 for the Tigers), but two this coming fall when the new Red Wings hockey arena opens. He also has many charitable foundations in the Detroit area that support a number of different causes.
He was a native of Detroit that was able to build an empire, and had great love for the city. And as someone that also grew up in this town and will always consider Detroit home, I'm definitely bummed out by this news but also forever grateful for what Mike Ilitch has done for this city.

Video Gaming General / Batman Telltale Series
August 04, 2016, 01:12:12 AM

I was excited last month when I saw the trailer for this game, and now the first episode is already out.  :woot: So far I'm loving the story and looking forward to seeing what they can do with my favorite superhero. If this comes anywhere near their Walking Dead games, this will be incredible. :)

Not the biggest LeBron fan in the world, and I'm pretty sure everyone knows my thoughts on the City of Cleveland and the state of ohio in general.  8)
That being said...props to LeBron. Dude did for Cleveland what no one thought possible, and he did it convincingly: first player in NBA Finals history to lead ALL players in Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, and Blocks. His last block in the series might've been the best in the playoffs I've seen since Tayshaun on Reggie Miller in 2004:

https://twitter.com/KennyDucey/status/744719210706800641

Even more impressive considering the reigning league MVP plays for Golden State (Steph Curry had the better supporting cast too).

I don't think I'll ever doubt the greatness of LeBron James again, anyone doing so just ends up looking stupid...like these guys:

Even more props to LeBron for wearing this when he got off the plane in Cleveland.

Other Sports / Pavel Datsyuk Goes Home
June 18, 2016, 06:55:12 PM
Most of us knew this time was coming a few months back, but it doesn't make it any less easier to take.

http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nhl/red-wings/2016/06/18/pavel-datsyuk-leaving-detroit-red-wings/86081818/

I don't blame him one bit for following his heart. I'm happy I got to see a talent like his play in the NHL for 14 seasons, and that they were all in Detroit. Even at 37, the void he leaves in the Wings lineup will be huge.

...and if you don't think Datsyuk, aka "The Magic Man", was something special? Check out this highlight reel.

Don't have 45 minutes? You could just watch this one on Marty Turco too.

...and chooses Las Vegas as the next city.

Coaches are gonna have a ton of fun trying to enforce curfew for players there.  :D Damn right I'm already looking forward to watching the Wings play there too!

Please please please let this be true. This overrated idiot needed to retire/leave two decades ago.

http://deadspin.com/report-chris-berman-will-retire-from-espn-at-the-end-o-1779050862

Getting rid of this clown with his tired schtick would be a good start, and launching Stephen A Smith into the sun would be even better for ESPN (and all of humanity with more than two brain cells).

Your yearly reminder that with Chicago and their bandwagon fanbase eliminated (by St. Louis, oddly enough), the 1997-1998 Red Wings are still the last team to repeat as Stanley Cup Champions.  :woot:

Also, pardon my language here but Chicago and Andrew Shaw can go fuck off...not even sorry haha. That's all.

Just wanted to say that I'm impressed by Coach K's uncanny ability to recruit a team of players that 99% of the country wants to punch in the face. Year in and year out, too.

Basketball Discussion / Steph Curry

Well...the kid is having a season so unreal that the league might as well just give him the MVP Trophy now. His team is 53-5...and he's shooting 50% this season from beyond 30+ feet.  :o

He also shot 75% from 3-pt range tonight against the OKC Thunder, including this game winner in OT (a game they were down by double digits at one point).  :o :o :o

Pitchers and catchers report for many teams (including the Detroit Tigers) today.  :woot:

Also, this is the first I've heard of this movie but I'm looking forward to it.

Just seeing what's on everyone's radar for the coming year...here's mine:

Movies

Deadpool
Zoolander No. 2
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (the most recent trailer has me concerned Zack Snyder may have screwed this up...we'll see)
Captain America: Civil War (Winter Soldier is Marvel's best comic book movie, can't wait for this one)
X-Men: Apocalypse
Finding Dory
Independence Day: Resurgence (Say what you want, but I'm more confidence about this movie after the first trailer than I am with Batman v. Superman)
Ghostbusters
Star Trek Beyond
The Magnificent Seven
Doctor Strange
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (a Harry Potter prequel of sorts? I'm in)
Rogue One: a Star Wars Story

TV

Daredevil Season Two
Angie Tribeca
