Day 4

A popular movie of any era that you consider overrated

I think Titanic is too easy for me, so Ill go with jurassic Park. just didnt appeal to me, at all.

BojackHorsefella

I'm gonna be controversial and go with Wonder Woman.

Look, I liked Wonder Woman. Overall, it's a good movie. But there's obvious plot holes and the third act is severely flawed, so all the "this should be nominated!" talk was just unreasonable.

I understand it's cultural importance, especially with the final box office tally, but let's not pretend it reinvented the wheel.

Day 2
An actor/actress whose movie you will see regardless of negative reviews

Harrison Ford, He's probably the one actor that I've seen almost every thing he's done.

Day 3
A film that made you a fan of the director

Legend was the first Ridley Scott film that I saw it was Alien and Blade Runner that truly made me a fan of his.

Also good calls

The Prestige...yeah, I know: I should've become a fan of Christopher Nolan by the time Memento (which I still haven't seen, btw) came out, or even Batman Begins, kicking off the greatest Batman trilogy. That movie made me thankful to Nolan for redeeming the franchise that Joel Schumacher nearly destroyed. The Prestige, however, was the one that really made me a fan of his work. I see his name attached now and I'll almost always (still haven't seen Interstellar either and I bought that when it came out lol) check it out...haven't been disappointed yet.

norm, wth? ;)

I agree with this

The Dark Knight.

I know there will probably be a few that disagree with me, but honestly I don't think it was as good as everyone says it was.

I was a decent film, good acting and directing, and a rather well crafted story. However as a solo film it cannot hold its own, and should not be treated as such. It needs both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight rises in order to have any type of coherency, in it storytelling.

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't.
And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would.

Oh, what a great pick. I love The Prestige. It's one of those movies where when it's on TV, I can't help turning it on and just watching whatever's left. So amazing.

Agreed, I love this movie a ton...and out of Nolan films that aren't Batman, the only one I'd put over it is Inception. Totally hooked.
"But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the negro poor has worsened over the last twelve or fifteen years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity." - Martin Luther King, Jr

A popular movie of any era that you consider overrated

Scarface
Okay movie, sure...but c'mon. Never saw it when it was originally released so I don't recall much of the early 80s culture at the time, but this got really popular again for some reason in the early 2000s so I watched it then. Okay but I really don't get the hype.

...and nut, lol wtf  :D

FYI, From what I recall, Scarface was not well received and even had an X rating at one point (dont quote me on that)all due to the violence and profanity.
So it was controversial for sure but I dont remember it being well received, at least until later IIRC

Day 5
An emotional scene (could be tense, sad death, love scene etc...)

Im going with the "funny how" scene from Goodfellas
Scorsese amps up the tension between mobsters Henry Hill and Tommy DeSimone when Tommy takes offense when Henry says he's a funny guy after hearing him tell an entertaining story.
The extras weren't told of the improv so Scorsese could capture real reactions and Liotta's draws out the tension when staring down Pesci before realizing its a joke.
This scene showed the volatile nature of mobsters, even between good friends like Henry and Tommy.

BojackHorsefella

Terror is an emotion, right?

Did I win?

Day 5
An emotional scene

There are so many to chose from in this type of category. But I'm gonna go with the end scene from Seven.

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't.
And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would.

TheNorm

Lots of good choices...didn't know about the Goodfellas scene, and I think we all know about the filming of the scene from Alien. :) The end from Se7en was incredible too! Could run a Top 5 with this...

Day 5
An emotional scene

Inside Out

"Who's your friend who likes to play? Bing Bong Bing Bong..."
Throwing this in spoilers since the movie is still fairly recent and the clip title gives it away, but...this one's always the one that gets me the most (still, 3 years later) in a movie that has a good amount of emotional scenes.

Damn you Norm. Damn you to hell. I swore I'd never think about that scene again and now.... *Sobs aggressively*
