Pro Football / 2019 Pro Football Thread

Well been checking out the AAF and the Birmingham Iron. I did not watch the first game, but have watched the last 2 weeks. I think the Iron is a decent team but the WRs can't could not catch a cold (most teams not just Bham) Saw shoelace  yesterday, dropped some passes, still fast as hell though.

A few pros and cons.

Pros:

Its Football

Easy to watch the games on the Tube.

Some cool new rules (the onside possession rule, saw the 1st one in the league yesterday and it was exciting, removal of the XP, 2 pt conversion only, not the stupid way the NFL does it)

The football is exciting and pretty good.

You can still hit the QB, he is not a sacred cow. But still have safety as a concern.

QB's have been accurate.

I think the talent could be NFL quality they have a bit to go.

The football looks good,  I loved the XFL but it did look minor league. This looks like a true pro league (albeit minor league)

Cons:

I think the DL are more advanced at this stage, running games are hard sledding because most OLs get pushed around.

Most games I have watched I have seen plenty of Drops by the WRs.

Some minor league feel to it.

I miss the kickoffs, but they may be a thing of the past soon.

Overall I like the league and teams, it probably won't last, but it is fun football.

Bham team has a Brasil fan page :)

Video Gaming General / The diablo controversy
« on: November 09, 2018, 11:14:10 AM »
In case you missed it Diablo Immortal was announced at Blizzcon this past weekend.
There is outrage among hardcore diablo fans, why? Because they teased diablo news for months leading up to hardcore pc diablo fans only to reveal a mobile game of a diablo rip off.

Fans had wanted a D1 or D2 remake for modern systems. D2 is still played and loved by fans. D3 people wanted another expansion. D3 fans have been begging for the druid for years. But what did they give their fans? They had a 3rd party crappy diablo clone reskin as their big announcement to a bunch of hardcore PC gamer Diablo fans.

You hear all the time "Mobile games make 70 billion a year, while pc and console together make that"

Both true statements, but the top grossing mobile game made 1.8 million while nothing to sneeze at
GTA5 sold 17 million units. so while the mobile market is larger their players dont spend as much money per game.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/273335/sales-of-the-worlds-most-popular-console-games-in-2011/

Blizzard dropped the ball I think, they should have done like Microsoft did with gears, yeah they did a mobile game but their fans were not pissed because they got a real game announced also.

that guy sums it up. If you have a chance watch some of the cringey announcement. It's good entertainment.

This one is sure on my radar, but after a sale. I used to love some zoo tycoon and this looks like a new game like that. Also made by the Roller coaster Tycoon people (the good one, not the crappy new one)

This one is interesting me for some reason. I havent played Fallout since the early pc days of 1 or 2. I don't remember which one it was.

But my kids loved the last few and they have been talking it up. The trailers look cool.
