February 4

Absolutely loved this jam when it came out a few years ago and still dig it now. The Weeknd has some great stuff. FYI, this song was nominated for a Teen Choice award. Pretty baller considering the subject matter. :D

The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face

“But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the negro poor has worsened over the last twelve or fifteen years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity.” - Martin Luther King, Jr

This one will stay in my rotation for all time.  This is a classic and a good trivia question, hardly anyone ever knows its Kenny Rodgers singing.

haha dig that, back when he was leading a pop group. A far cry from his duets with Dolly  :D

I ran across this duo shortly after their first album arrived and Im really into these chicks.
Ive met these girls at their shows and taken guitar lessons from the singer and they are dope AF.

I think it's almost cliche to like The Rolling Stones because their catalog is so freaking vast and extends decades, and decades of great albums, not just one good record surrounded by ten years of shit...ok, 80's excluded.  ;)
It's impossible to declare a favorite, but when Im asked, I declare Gimmie Shelter, if for no other reason, the Merry Clayton vocals. Man its just so freakin good.

I agree that it is almost cliche to like the Stones or Beatles but who cares they made a lot of great music.  I will stick with your thought process.  My favorite Stones song is ...

If this thread has nothing but the Rolling Stones or Beatles for weeks on end it would still be amazing.

Not where I'm going today though.

February 9 finds me dropping another Billie Eilish tune on all of you.

Billie Eilish - Everything I Wanted

“But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. Somedays, you absolutely need to just fire up a theme song simply to get through the day/night. Like today.

Alan Silvestri - Avengers Theme

“But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. This was a weird song when it was new and remains one that most don't like but I love.  Back when my mullet game was strong and metal was my jam this was a guilty pleasure of mine.

Absolutely LOVED Siouxsie & the Banshees back in the day!

February 14

Not much of a Valentine's Day person, which is weird because deep down I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic. This song got me through some shit a few years ago. Neither one of us handled things well, and even after this song got me through that rough patch we proceeded to make a mess of each other's lives for a couple more years after that. It prompted one of my best friends to say "for as smart as you are, you make some really dumb decisions when it comes to women." Guilty as charged.

James Bay - Let It Go

“But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. My dad turned me on to this song and Johnny Cash.
I know Cash didnt write this song but he is such a narrative force, it seems what ever he does, it's his own.
