One of my earliest heroes. As much as an actor can be, but Burt had it all, looks, charm, sense of humor and acting ability for which he didnt get enough credit IMO.
Really cant describe what a huge star he was in the 70's and 80's back before films were spit out a dozen a day.
Ive said this before, but his Smokey and the Bandit was responsible for my addiction to film and wanting to re watch them over and over ad nauseam, not to mention being the catalyst for me quoting movies as an art form long before anyone knew what the hell I was talking about.
After everything I read about him, observed in his films and listened to in interviews, he was a man who believed in friendship and took care of those in his circle. Much like with Gene Wilder, Jerry Reed, Robin Williams and John Candy, I really feel loss.
RIP my man.
