Promoting the upcoming football season and people take it to mean they are talking about rape?

Much ado about nothing or really insensitive?

Considering what some Vandy football players were in the news for just a few months ago, compounded with a recent study that 19 percent of women had been a victim of rape/attempted rape in their freshman year (19 percent!), yeah, I do think it's a really really really poor choice of words. It's not about politically correct at this point, it's about common f*cking sense.

While I'm not a big fan of posting a link to a Bleacher Report article, here we go...

Lets say the rape did not happen , would it be a poor choice of words?

I think it is a lame slogan, and never linked the slogan with any rape, I linked it to the football team not needing permission to be good. Then i saw the reports about them pulling it down etc... Never once thought Rape.

19 percent, man. Still a poor choice of words when you're using social media to broadcast it out for everyone to see. While you never once thought rape, the response to this story tells me many people did and were disgusted/horrified/etc. by it.

I don't like playing the politically correct game too much (some people will look to be offended by anything) but when it comes to something like this some common sense really needs to be used. Especially when it's apparent that far too many young adults think "NO" is acceptable foreplay.

Im not a PC guy and and when you lok at it, yes, i got that it was football right away, but the negative stems from the idea that this is obviously a motto to be echoed and all of those instances wont clearly relate to football, hence poorly thought out.
Further, i would think given the situation on their campus someone would have the common decency to realize, hey, maybe not such a good idea here.
And yes, if they are innocent, same opinion.
