And so it begins....

If I could've favorited that tweet a thousand times on Twitter, I would've. Yep, absolutely gonna love this rivalry the next few years.
Probably my other favorite part of that tweet but not mentioned in that article are the responses from Sparty fans all butthurt that they're getting ignored in Michigan again. All these years later and they still can't accept that we'll never consider them the most hated rivals they want to be.

Just be careful, once you back on top, then everyone claims you are their rival, Every week when we play an SEC opponent , they are our rival now.
LSU fans get mad when we tell them we arent rivals.

the biggest reason why auburn loses money while bama makes it?
Lengthy read, but it highlights pretty much everything that went wrong under AD (athletic douchebag) Dave Brandon's tenure at Michigan.

Pretty shitty what the NCAA did to this baylor player. Kid was homeless and someone let him live at their place while he walked on the football team.
I think the NCAA should allow a waiver in this case. But Cam Newton can be swept under the rug because he did not know his dad solicited money. Bull shit.

they'll do what they always do. In a decade they'll say they were wrong and that they are sorry. Maybe give the kid a gift card to Starbucks.

Hey, if you wanted more watered down bowl games this year, you're in luck-the NCAA added three more bowls this coming season. ::)

Within the next five years, I'm certain the NCAA will take the teams that don't make a bowl game and turn it into an NIT-type competition.
I like bowls. I really do. I have no issue with more football games. granted they are getting numerous, but more football is a good thing :)

Nope, I'm gonna disagree here. A majority of these bowl games don't even sell out anymore (and seriously, who pays for this), and it's getting to the point you'd almost have to try to miss one. I want quality, not quantity here: two teams that went 6-6 facing off in the "No One Gives a Shit, Not Even a Majority of Your Fanbase" Bowl just doesn't strike me as fun. There's no need for 65% of all FBS teams to be playing in bowls. There's gotta be a happy medium, and we've crossed that gap a LONG time ago.
I will disagree, but I understand your point.
I am going to list some positives of them.
For the players they get swag. We hear all the time that players cant do this and that. They get bowl swag, from best buy shopping sprees, to gift certificates to XBOX/PS4 items.
The kids get to go somewhere and treated well for a season of 6 wins or more. They get to visit somewhere they never visited.
Advertisers / ESPN pay for the bowl.
The teams that go 6-6 get more practice to get better for next year.... I can remember 2007 Bama played Colorado in the shreveport "something something darkside" bowl. That practice helped that team to improve to 12-2 the next season.
A win can send your team on a positive note.
you get great moments like this
I disagree that the fans of the schools don't even care. I believe they do, just every school doesn't travel like the big boys.
If the bowls arent on, they are showing the carnival cruise lines shuffleboard championship instead.
Also if you dont like the bowl, you don't have to watch it, they are not keeping something else from being aired.
To me, this is just another sign of the times....EVERYONE GETS A TROPHY!!!!!
agreed, but there is more football on, so I am cool with it. To me its no different that 68 teams making the playoffs in basketball when only about 20 or less have any business in the tourney.
All valid points, but im not sure you can compare bowl games to the ncaa tourney, i think thats apples and oranges
