QuoteHAMILTON – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats confirmed Saturday they have signed quarterback Johnny Manziel.
The news was first revealed hours earlier, when Manziel took to Twitter to announce he's signed a contract with the club.
The team will hold a press conference at Tim Hortons Field at 2:30 p.m. ET, where Manziel will be introduced and will answer questions alongside Head Coach June Jones. The press conference will be streamed live on CFL.ca.
"We're excited to add Johnny Manziel to our roster, particularly getting it done now so that Johnny can join his new teammates and the coaching staff for a full training camp," said June Jones, head coach of the Tiger-Cats. "We feel like we've got an excellent group of quarterbacks, and the addition of Johnny only improves our football team in our pursuit of the ultimate goal, which is to win a Grey Cup Championship."
