Fauxpelini twitter gets into an exchange with the Wisconsin police twitter.... hilarity ensues.

"But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the negro poor has worsened over the last twelve or fifteen years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity." - Martin Luther King, Jr

So...Nebraska just fired a guy that went 9-3 this season.

I'm simply assuming at this point that Brady Hoke's tenure at Michigan will be ending in the next few days. I'll write more on that later...probably worthy of a lengthy post.

they have a history of that. Frank Solich consistently won games had a bad year 7-7, then fired him after 9 or 10 win season. The pelini firing puzzles me, dudes worst season was 9-4. They may hire another Bill Callahan.

Big 12 and the "One True Champion" Bull Shit they spewed all year really pissed me off.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11964184/big-12-present-tcu-baylor-co-champions

Sorry I called BS when they advertised it, and I hope K State wins this weekend and wins the big 12. Auburn who finished 4-4 in the SEC, beat them. Auburn lost to Texas A&M.

The reason i am against the Big 12 and Notre Dame ever going to the playoff until they (big 12) have at least 12 teams and a conference game, and Notre Dame has to play a conference schedule and a conference title game... why?

2011. Alabama lost to LSU in the regular season 9-6 in overtime. The cries were,

"No one should be in the title game if you dont win your conference" OK fine, why does Notre Dame get a pass? They did not win a conference?

"Only Champions should be in the title game"  Again Notre Dame was Champions of nothing in 2012

"Its not fair LSU played a conference title game, while Bama rested" Big 12 (this year) and Notre Dame(2012), both played less games than the other teams(Bama 2012 and name your team from the power 5 with title games that are being considered)

Before anyone says the Big 12 plays this weekend while other conferences are in title games, go ahead and slap yourself. Big 12 teams had 3 bye weeks while everyone else had 2.

This playoff was invented because Bama played LSU a 2nd time and refused to think of Bama as an independent, or even being open minded enough to think that 2 teams could be the best in the nation in the same division and conference.

Now I don't think Bama is the #1 team this year. I think its Oregon, Bama, FSU, OSU (minus the QB Injury). I think that would also make for a great national title game when Bama and Oregon play and hope to God we could hang on.

It would give the 4 conferences with a title game a slot. It would sound a warning to Big 12 and Notre Dame to put up or shut up.

Now that I said this watch all 4 lose their title game this week and the big 12 get 3 teams in.  :)

Conference Champions:

SEC - ALABAMA
ACC - FSU
B1G - OHIO STATE (sorry norm)
P12 - OREGON
Big XII - Baylor / TCU
AAC - Cincinnati / Memphis / UCF
CUSA - Marshall
MAC - Northern Illinois
Sun Belt  - Georgia Southern
MWC - Currently Playing

How I think the Playoff committee will select the 4 participants

1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. Ohio State
4. Florida State

or

1. Oregon
2. Alabama
3. FSU
4. OSU

Big XII will not make it based on no conference title game. This will force them to take at least 2 more teams.

I said it back in September, and I'll say it again now: no Big Ten team deserves to be in the College Football Playoff this year. The conference is an embarrassment on the field (Michigan included), and anyone that thinks ohio $tate belongs there I'm tempted to block out of general principle (they lost to VT in the Shoe lol). Top two teams in the Big XII are TCU or Baylor. The second best team in the Big Ten was busy getting shellacked by 5+ TDs last night. TCU won by 50+ yesterday and was taking knees on offense with 5 minutes left, and you're going to try and tell that because they don't have a conference championship game they get dropped from 3 to out of the playoff? It's utter bullshit and a f*cking joke.

Can't believe the Big Ten lobbied enough to get a team in. Because getting blown out by an SEC squad in the bowl game will do wonders for the B1G's reputation. ::)

Here is my take. Alot of team improve from week one to week 12 etc... FSU should have had a few losses by now. If you watched the Bama Ark game, we should have lost that one. I am not familiar with the pac12 but maybe the same for Oregon. So no team is perfect.

Also Any conference that skirts a championship game should be behind the 8ball. Baylor's OOC schedule was downright pitiful, SMU, Northwestern State and Buffalo. Plus they had 3 bye weeks.  All conferences with a championship game only had 2. Yes the big 12 played 9 conference games but is Iowa state the same as Va Tech? No Va Tech is a better opponent. For every bad loss or win against a conference the big 10 was equal to the big 12. Mizzou SEC east champ lost to Big ten loser indiana.

the big 12 had 4 wins vs. power 5 conference. So their record is no better. Granted TCU's schedule was tougher and their loss was better, but they had one less game, and an extra bye to heal up. Who would have won a big 12 title game? We dont know they refused to have one.  They got rewarded justly.

You are tough on your conference, the big ten while down, is still just as good as any other conference. Big 12 only had 4 wins vs. power 5 conferences and one included Duke. I bet you can find 4 wins vs. power 5 conferences  in the big 10.

anyways.. scouting the OSU forums, a very delusional fan base that is OSU. They have not watched a game of Bama football. Said Blake Sims has not had to face pressure and would fold once he did. Just last week Blake was harassed more than he was all year, won MVP honors. Said if they double cooper they would shut him down. Mizzou did it, Cooper set the first half receiving record (10 in a half) did not have his yards  but finished with 12 catches. They kinda remind me of auburn fans, not sure of what they speak of. Auburn fans think Saban is scared of them, he is 5-2 the last 7 years, and it took a team to play in the national title game to beat them barely.

Norm not familiar with OSU, what can I expect in the playoff against them?

TheNorm

Maybe I'm wrong, but the Big XII didn't refuse to have a conference championship game-from what I read yesterday the NCAA doesn't allow them to have one since the conference only has 10 teams. Big XII isn't skirting anything, and adding two teams just so they're eligible in the future to have one is a silly idea.

And I'm tough on my conference because they deserve to be mocked. ohio State lost-at home, by 10+ points-to the ACC's last place team. Beating up on other Big Ten teams the rest of the season does absolutely nothing to prove how strong the Big Ten is. The B1G sucked in September, and they suck now-this isn't college hoops lol. Take a look at the spreads for each of the Big Ten bowl game matchups, and they're an underdog in every single one of them. And while the Big Ten's five wins vs. power conferences is higher than the Big XII's four, the Big Ten still ended up with the lowest winning percentage at 5-11 (31%) out of all five. Great reputation.

Then Bob Bowlsby's going to try and tell us that ohio's dominance of Wisconsin was a factor...wait, what? Was he not paying attention earlier in the day when TCU was doing the same thing to Iowa State?  ::)

As for what to expect against ohio? Get to their 3rd string QB early and often and they'll be done. Defense is okay (Joey Bosa is a stud on that defensive line), but they haven't played a team the likes of Bama this year. As much as Michigan blew this year, they even put up 28 on them. Only reason they blew out Wisconsin last weekend is because they made Melvin Gordon a non-factor early. Your offense has more weapons, so unless Saban decides he wants to grab a guy from the stands to play QB for the entire game Alabama should win running away.

you need 12 teams to have a playoff.  Not fair the big twelve got 3 bye weeks while the other conferences only got 2.

Besides what would it hurt to put SMU and Louisville in the conference. most of the teams play them (SMU) anyways and it would allow them to have a conference title game.

Also if say Ga Tech, Arizona, Mizzou and/or Wisconsin wins they get 2 teams in.  I am glad the "1 true champion" blew up in their face. Lack of a title game shows you they are scared , especially when they can throw BYU , Colorado state or SMU in and pad their schedule. They could have their top 2 teams face off like everyone else. Instead, now they can cry and whine they got robbed, while playing one less game than the champions of other leagues. FSU was already undefeated, they had to prove they were the best in the ACC.

BTW already tired of OSU, started out the smack talk like Notre Dame did in 2012. With the hillbilly inbreeding jokes. The cheating of the SEC (didnt sweater vest retire under scandal :) )  etc... Hope we skull fudge them good. :)
