Shutter Island was another good one!

Day 16
Best car chase scene

This should produce some good choices.
Im going with Ronin. To me, its one of the more realistic chase scenes and the movie is really good as well

Blues Brothers - Mall Car Chase

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't.
And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would.

TheNorm

Great choices, but props to the Blues Brothers pick for sure.

Hmm...so many to choose from: Bullitt, French Connection, Gone in 60 Seconds (either one), Smokey & the Bandit, any of the Fast & Furious movies (fight me, those movies are fun), The Bourne Supremacy...but my recency bias is kicking in tonight so I'll go with this one.

"But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the negro poor has worsened over the last twelve or fifteen years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity." - Martin Luther King, Jr

All choices thus far are great! Norm, pleasantly surprised with the above, except, I KNEW Baby Driver was yours lol

BojackHorsefella

I ALMOST went with Baby Driver too

Day 17
favorite comedy

Im looking for your idea of best comedy movie. Could be for any reason, how you relate to the material, characters, the story, jokes, etc...
I have a hard time letting go of the films I grew up watching over and over and over in the theatre because they made such an impression on me, and my lexicon.
Smokey and the bandit, Caddyshack, Stripes, Blues Brothers, Animal House, Cheech and Chong...but the one I will go with is Airplane.
It was just so damn corny, and funny. That film made a joke out of everything, and a stupid one at that. Surely I cant be serious.

Yes you can be serious, and don't call me Surely.

Airplane is still a great comedy, and Airplane 2, where not as funny, still had some good laughs.

As far as favorite I'l go with Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Love this movie and it is by far the best Monty Python movie of them all. The movie actually makes very little sense at all and I think that is whats so appealing about it.
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't.

BojackHorsefella

Both great selections.

I'm going to go with Christmas Vacation.

TheNorm

All three of those movies are great, and Holy Grail would've been my pick.  With that chosen, I'll go a different route and pick one of my favorite stoner movies from the last 20 years... Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.

This movie was just hilarious and I've found I'll almost always stay with this movie when it's on. Also love just about any movie that'll go against stereotypes.

Perfect choices! Completely forgot about Harold and Kumar. I might have to fire that up again.

Day 18
Favorite sequel. (Doesn't have to be a II)

there are many obvious ones here, and Im sure Ill be stealing someones choice but for me, ESB.

That would've been my pick alright, no complaints there. Was originally not going to even bother with a response but now that I think of it...

Captain America: Winter Soldier

Best MCU movie IMO until Black Panther came out.

Used it once but let's do this again:

The Dark Knight

Day 18
Favorite sequel. (Doesn't have to be a II)

Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan.

Even though the movie is over 30 years old it's still the best in the series.

Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't.
And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would.
